BRIDPORT ROAD 1. 5191 (North Side) Dorset Military Museum SY 6890 7/280 II
2. 1876-7. Former gatehouse to Infantry Barracks. Architect possibly Major A C Seddon, head of War Office design branch at this date. Rock-faced Portland. 4 storeys. Crenellated parapet on corbels. Round turrets at front corners rise higher than remainder, and are linked by corbelled stone balcony at 1st floor level. 7 ranges of lancets in front. Segment-headed archway with spur stones. Lancets are stepped spirally in towers.
