Bridge House (formerly 11/158 listed as Bridge View)

Detached house. Mid-late C17. Rubble stone walls, thatched roof with coped gables, brick end stacks. 2 storeys and attic. C18 raised panel door under moulded hood on shaped brackets. Ground floor has two 2-light and two 4-light stone mullioned windows with hoodmoulds. First floor has four similar 3-light windows. Internally, right ground floor room has large open fireplac-e with moulded timber lintel. Deep chamfered ceiling beams. Arched recess by fireplace. Left ground floor room has large open fireplace with slightly cambered timber lintel and bread oven. Deep chamfered ceiling beams. On first floor, left end room has timber lintel of original fireplace - blocked. Right end room has original fireplace with cambered lintel and stone jambs. Deep chamfered ceiling beams. Some re-used smoke-blackened roof timbers indicating reconstruction of an earlier open-hall house. At the rear, 3 dormers with oak mullioned windows with remains of lead lights.
