Description
ST 30 SW THORNCOMBE HOLDITCH LANE 1/72 Lower Holditch Farmhouse 4.12.51 GV II Farmhouse. Early C17 and later. Rubble walls with stone quoins and dressings. Stone gable copings. Plain tile roof. Stone stacks with classical cornices at each gable. Currently L-plan: ie a C20 extension wing at right angles to original house. Two storeys. Three windows: stone mullions with cavetto mouldings and labels. Iron casements with glazing-bars. Doorway with stone moulded jambs and head with stone portico on brackets over C20 glazed door with small panels. Outshut at rear. Source: R.C.H.M. Dorset I, p. 248(41).
