Description

PUDDLETOWN SY 7594 HIGH STREET (North Side) 14/71 Nos 16-30 (even nos) GV II Symmetrical terrace of 8 estate cottages. Dated 1864. Rough ashlar walls, slate roof. 6 stacks spaced along ridge, with ashlar bases, plastered above. One storey and attics. No. 16, at left end, has a C20 glazed door in ashlar surround, under hoodmould. Ground floor has one 3-light stone mullioned window with arched lights, under hoodmould, with cast iron glazing. Attic has a gabled dormer with bargeboards and similar 2-light window. No. 18 is similar, with part glazed door, and has in addition a single-light window under the eaves. Nos. 20 and 22 are similar, paired, with adjoining doors, that of No. 20 ledged, of No. 22 part glazed. Date panel in centre of terrace. Nos. 24 and 26 are paired, both with ledged doors. No. 28 has a C20 part glazed door, fenestration as No. 18. No. 30 at right end, has glazed door, fenestration as No. 16. Good unspoiled example. Listing NGR: SY7568794351
