WEYMOUTH
SY6681SW CAUSEWAY, Radipole 873-1/11/493 (North side) 14/06/74 Mill Cottage (Formerly Listed as: WEST END, Radipole Mill Cottage)
GV II
2 cottages and part of mill, now detached house. Early C19. Coursed and squared stone, asbestos-cement slate roof. The roof is unusually steep, and may previously have been thatched; to the right is a one-storey range, a service or storage wing. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, with two 16-pane replica sashes at first floor above 3 at ground floor, all to face boxes, wide plain stone lintels with a central keystone, and wood sills. Off-centre left is a panelled door to a concrete lintel, and under a wide flush relieving arch which also embraces the window to the left. The central window was formerly a doorway. A small plinth, and brick gable stacks. The left gable has some large flush stone quoins incorporated, projects above the roof-line, and is in part the residue from a previously attached range. The roof sweeps down at the rear, and there is a small light to the left gable in the extended portion. A low later range is attached, rear left. The low range to the right is in rubble with a wide gabled slate roof. To the road are 3 small, deep-set square lights, without sills, and the gable end has a loading-bay plank door above a 2-light casement. INTERIOR: not inspected.
