Public house, now club. c1840. Rendered street front and left return, English garden wall brickwork rear and right return,squared Portland stone to basement, slate roof, brick end           stacks. A compact symmetrical block with wide-span roof; the           ground falls rapidly to the rear, with the basement emerging           at garden level.           EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, attic and basement, 2 windows; 2-light           casement flat-roofed dormers above 16-pane sashes, but at           ground floor the lower sash has only a central bar. First           floor has a blind window above the plain arched doorway with a           pair of flush-panelled doors to a plain fanlight. A small           plinth, cornice band, blocking and parapet, returned at the           ends. In the left gable is a central door at first-floor level           on concrete steps, and a brick and slate gabled outbuilding.           The right gable has a small light central to the gable. The           back has 2 small 2-light dormers, 16-pane sashes, and a rubble           basement wall.           INTERIOR: altered to ground floor, otherwise not inspected.           SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: to the left is a small single-storey           outbuilding with some rubble walling incorporating large quoin           stones, and a slate roof. The building was empty and           dilapidated at time of survey.
