Description

WEYMOUTH SY6683 MILL STREET, Broadwey 873-1/8/448 (North side) 14/06/74 Old Mill House GV II House attached to North Mill (qv). Dated 1854. Coursed and squared stone, slate roof. A compact symmetrical house, with a further bay, brought forward, to the right, fronting attached cottages. 2 storeys and attic, 3+1 windows, all 16-pane sashes to wide tripartite flush lintels with projecting keystone, flush alternating quoins, and stone sills. The main range has a central 6-pane sash dormer, with long cheeks and flat roof, above sashes at each level, with central early 6-panel door under a 3-pane transom light and on 2 stone steps. The left return has a 12-pane sash at each level, and a large central eaves stack in brick. The projecting range to the right has one 16-pane sash detailed as the remainder, under a straight coped parapet which drops to a lower level, and also at the right-hand end to a former gate or pier position. The right gable has 2 large rendered stacks above small-scale additions. INTERIOR: not inspected. Listing NGR: SY6672483517
