Possibly built after 1731, the Bastards' map shows a building in the same building line as Nos 1 to 3 and 7 to 17 East Street, whereas the present house is set well back. 5 window front set back, 2- storey and attic. Usual brickwork. Closely set sash windows with keys. Brick strings. Parapet has 3 stone vases and small moulded stone coping swept up to form gable in centre, giving the effect of an open pediment. Round-headed window gable with stone imposts and key. Rubble brick arch to central lst floor window has shaped soffit and keystone. Fluted Ionic pilasters, dentil cornice and pediment to doorcase. Iron balustrade fanlight, lion keystone, Iron balustrade to entrance steps. Good contemporary plasterwork internally. Nos 1 to 17 (odd) and Outbuildings behind Nos 1 and 3 form a group being of particular interest because most of them date from the fire of 1731. Also No 5 (Eastway House) forms a a group with Dwarf Wall, gatepiers, Summerhouse.
