Farmhouse/industrial building. Early Cl9. Ashlar and rubble walls,
hipped slate roof with rendered end stacks. South-east wing has
swept-up parapet masking roof. 3 storeys, 4 window range. Sashes
with glazing bars, some blocked. Dentilled brick eaves course.
Plat band between ground and first floor. Rusticated quoins. The
site was used by the woollen industry in the C18, the works being
founded by a Frenchman named A'court. Later a stocking factory run
by Messrs Stanford and Dowding was set up.
