Listed Building: RIDGE FARMHOUSE (102579)

LYDLINCH ST 71 SW 4/78 Ridge Farmhouse 4.10.60 II House, late Cl7. Coursed rubble, cob upper floor, colourwashed. Hipped thatched roof with central brick stack. Lobby entrance plan with rear wing. 2 storeys and attic, 3 window range. Ground floor left has a 4-light ovolo moulded wooden mullioned window under a wooden lintel (Partially restored) Ground floor right has a 4-light C20 casement under a wooden lintel. Ground floor windows have horizontal glazing bars. Upper floor central has a 3-fixed light, wooden window with leaded-lights flanked by 2 3-light mullioned windows, partially ovolo-moulded with some leaded lights. 2 eyebrow dormers in roof, the left hand one having some diamond paned leaded lights. Central C19 tiled porch. Ground floor left room has deep chamfered beams with cyma stops. Ground floor right has ovolo-moulded beams. The rear wing has an unglazed timber window with straight chamfers. Attic space has original doors and partitions with some early graffitti. "RCHM, Dorset, vol III," p 142, no 18.
