GV II
Gateway and bridge over river Tarrant. Early C18, probably by Vanburgh. Ashlar.
Rusticated with ball finials linked by plain screen walls with smaller ball
finials. Round headed niches on part side. Bridge has round ashlar arch
with rusticated voussoirs. Main gateway linked to 2 pairs of similar piers
by low brick wall surmounted by railings. (RCHM, Dorset, vol.IV, p.93, no.2.)
