Description

EAST BOROUGH 1. 5193 (west side) No 77 (Hartlands) SU 0000 1/34 14.6.52 II GV 2. Late C18-early C19. Rendered walls. Tiled roof behind parapet. Rendered stacks. Rendering to ground floor marked out with recessed horizontal joints. Main block has 6 panel door in classical surround, with broken pediment hood and entablature with ornamental frieze and Ionic pilasters. Ground floor has a segmental bow window with glazing bars and classical entablature to head. First floor has 3 double hung sash windows with glazing bars. Hood moulds above these, carried on carved or cast heads. Attic has one dormer with hipped roof, and side hung casements with glazing bars. Southern section of facade is set back from street but has a later single storey extension in front. This has one fixed window with glazing bars and carved or cast heads as on main block. First floor has one blocked window with painted glazing bars, and hood mould on heads as on main block. Brick boundary wall extends along East Borough and returns along Chapel Lane. RCHM Monument 56.
