Pair of houses, now shops. Mid C18, restored mid C20. Header bond brickwork with tarred plinth, brick eaves, party wall stacks and tiled roof. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys, basement and attic; 5-window range. Paired central doorways beneath a timber canopy on 4 moulded brackets, with wide stone steps up; flanking canted early C19 timber oriel shop fronts, the right-hand one a C20 copy. First floor has gauged brick flat arches with keystones over 6/6-pane first-floor sashes in exposed frames, blocked to the centre. Two C20 dormers. Right-hand segmental-arched through flagged passage. Rear wings with mansard roofs. INTERIOR: reported to have a central lateral dogleg stair to the central party wall, original fitted cupboard with glazed doors and fielded panelled side doors. Dated c1692 on the front, but clearly later on stylistic grounds. (RCHME: County of Dorset (South East): London: 1970-: 223).
