Lookout folly. Circa 1820. Built by the Rev John Richards Clavell of Smedmore. Brick and stone, plastered and with stone dressing. A circular tower of three storeys plus a semi-basement. The ground storey is surrouded by a Tuscan colonnade with simple entablature -has a round- headed doorway and three round-headed windows. The two upper storeys, divided by a stone stringcourse, each have four similar windows. Parapet, pierced with quatrefoil openings, has mock machicolations at its base. In rather poor repair.
