SY 89SW 2/4 AFFPUDDLE North Barn
II
Built 1802 - Diary of James Frampton. Cob walls on brick base. Thatched roof. Projecting porches in each long wall; that on south-east roofed as a lean-to continuing main roof slope; that on north-west with hipped roof. Timber ledged doors. Slit vent openings formed in cob without brick surrounds. At south-east end a lower addition, also of cob and thatch. Internally, the roof is of collar-beam construction with curved braces under the collars. Barn set in an enclosure bounded by a cob wall with tile capping. Good unspoiled example. RCHM Monument 37.
