Pair of cottages, probably originally one house. C17. Rubble stone walls, thatched roofs, stone end stacks. One storey and attics. No, 47 has stable door. Ground floor has 2 casements with glazing bars. Attic has 2 dormers with similar casements. Internally, main ground floor room has large open fireplace with timber lintol. Some exposed ceiling beams. No. 49 has stable door. Ground floor has one casement with glazing bars. Attic has one dormer in roof slope, with 2 horizontally sliding sashes with centre horizontal bar. Stone slate roof below dormer. Roofs partly of jointed cruck construction. (RCHM, Monument 95. Dorset. Vol. II).
