Parish Church, perhaps late C13 or early C14 origin, rebuilt C15 and extensively restored 1848. Restoration by R I Withers of Sherborne. Banded rubble and flint with rough ashlar dressings. Chancel has stone slated roof, nave is tiled. Gable ends with stone copings bearing cross finials. Ashlar bell-cote between nave and chancel. Plan: nave and chancel. Chancel: all windows probably Cl9; east window of 3 trefoiled lights under a "centred head with label having carved head stops; north and south windows of 2 trefoiled lights with quatrefoils; north door with chamfered, 2-centred head and continuous jambs. Nave, north wall has 2 C17 2-round-headed light windows with square heads to the west and a similar C19 single light window east; south wall has similar 2-light windows and a blocked west opening; early C14 west window of 2 pointed lights under a 2-centred head; C19, 2 centred, moulded west door with continuous jambs. Internal features: chancel arch id 2 centred with 2 chamfered orders, the outer continuous with the jambs and the inner dying into the responds, probably Cl9 collar- braced roofs with moulded wall plates; pulpit C19 but incorporating some C15 panels; painted black letter inscription of the Lord's Prayer on north nave wall; pews with elaborate carved bench ends depicting scenes from the Life of Christ etc (difficult to date, either C17 or C19); angel corbels reset in nave; pulpit probably C20 with octagonal stone bowl on cluster of 4 shafts with moulded capitals and bases; linenfold panelling behind altar; C19 encaustic tiles in chancel.
