Description

NRHE: P A Brown discovered this site and carried out a limited excavation before turning the site over to Michael Hughes for further investigation. A Romano-British well was revealed, thought to have some ritual significance due to the discovery of two altars associated with the masonry surrounding the well, and a complete sheep's skull at the bottom of the well. The site is only c.200 m from an important industrial site of the same date.
