Description

Two trenches dug across the area to be excavated for lakes. Topsoil was stripped by machine using a toothless bucket, and the exposed subsoil examined for features or deposits of archaeological character. Further excavation carried out where needed to confirm the nature of underlying deposits. No archaeological finds or features were observed.
