Description
A quantity of Roman pottery was recovered by Mr L Cooper during construction of a circular soakaway some 0.7m wide and 2m deep. The stratigraphy was reported as consisting of approximately 2m of dark grey sandy soil overlying the natural sandstone; there was no evidence of any archaeological features.
The pottery recovered weighed 2kg in total, and dated mostly to the 3rd and 4th centuries.
