Description

Two evaluation trenches were dug in September 1995. Trench C and Trench D (trenches A and B having been dug in 1991) were excavated in the field centred ST 945 023 and positioned on the alignment of the Badbury to Dorchester Roman road and across features identified during magnetometry survey in 1993. Excavations were to determine the extent of erosion on the site by modern ploughing.
