Description

A large excavation trench investigating a geophysical anomaly, excavated prior to the construction of the Dorchester By-pass. It revealed the eastern half of a Bronze Age enclosure defined by a ditch. Within the enclosure were the remains of a post-built round house and a small number of other small features. Subsequently a large boundary ditch was established along the eastern edge of the enclosure in the Middle Bronze Age. Four inhumations were found in the secondary fills of this boundary ditch.
