Description

Christopher Sparey Green observed a service trench in Alington Street, opposite what was then Day's Bookshop. A small quantity of medieval and post-medieval pottery dating between the 14th and late 18th centuries. Some crucible fragments, oyster shell, animal bone and flints were also recovered. Uncertain what the stratigraphy observed was.
