Description
A watching brief was maintained during the topsoil stripping for the construction of the Dorchester By-pass by Wessex Archaeology in 1987-1988. This area had been previously evaluated and an area excavation had been undertaken. A small number of additional features were recorded as part of the watching brief and the results have been incorporated with the results from the main excavations (1). This included a Romano-British grave [52011] and a linear ditch.
