Description

… a junior member of the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society, Christopher J. Green, made a number of important discoveries as a result of observation and trial excavation mainly since 1963. It is hoped that these discoveries will be published in full in these proceedings. One of these discoveries; iii) a gravelled area, perhaps extensive, in the Cornhill area of South Street, which he believes may be the Forum Courtyard. The pottery recovered from this area suggests Pre-Flavian occupation in Dorchester.
