Description

A paving of 'hand laid' black flints at a depth of 3ft, direction NE-SW, was noted in 1926 by C.D. Drew on a 25in OS plan in the DCM at the junction of Prince of Wales Road and Alington Road. The coincidence of this exposure with a modern route suggests and earlier road, but not necessarily Roman.
