Description

No. 6 High West Street (formerly listed as Judge Jeffrey’s Lodgings) is a 17th century timber-framed building of three storeys and cellar said to be the site of the Abbot of Abbotsbury’s town house. Much restored both internally and externally. The site was surveyed by 'J.G.B' of the Ordnance Survey Archaeological Division on the 10 October 1980. His field notes are recorded on the OS record card as follows: No change: shown as No. 6 on OS 1:2500 and not named. [1]
