Description

A site visit was conducted by J. Rigg of the Ordnance Survey Archaeological Division on the 1 September 1954 at the site of the discovery of an armlet in Wollaston Field, Dorchester. His site notes are recorded in the OS record card as follows. The area is partly built upon but largely grass covered. He had previously interviewed Col. Drew, curator of DCM, on the 25 August 1954 concerning the find. Col. Drew is recorded as saying: Wollaston Field is north of Wollaston House etc. The armlet is probably not Roman or Saxon [1].
