Description

Christopher Sparey Green observed two Late Roman ditches during the construction of a new building for Wright Pugson Ltd. These ditches were exposed in the eastern and western footings trenches for the new building. The ditches were similar in size, shape and orientation. They were sloping sided and flat bottomed and filled with grey brown soil with chalk flecks. Both ditches were oriented roughly E-W and probably formed part of a late Roman enclosure.
