Description

‘An archaeological watching brief was carried out, during August 1998, of the proposed extension to Greenhill House, Sherborne School…intermittently during groundworks.’ Little in the way of further archaeological features were observed from those recorded in the earlier evaluation. A large well was partly exposed below the west facing wall of Greenhill House and further evidence for medieval quarrying was revealed at the western end of the site. A single medieval subsoil feature was observed in section only to the south of the site.
