Description

A watching brief was carried out in June 2001 by AC archaeology during the construction of a block of three houses to the rear of 45-55 South Street, Bridport, following on from an earlier evalution of the area in April 2001. The digging of the footings trenches were observed and a number of areas of 'dirty' clay were noted, together with two sections of possible ditches, which may be parts of the ditches previously discovered in Evaluation Trench 2, in fact, one of the sections is probably within the area of the evaluation trench. No more information on the dating or alignment of the ditches was obtained.
