Description

'The South Transept of Cerne Abbey church is supposed to have stood near the centre of the present churchyard, where fragments of monuments etc have frequently been found. A few yards from this in the NE corner of the churchyard, between the site of the conventual church and St. Augustine's well, is a pavement of fine glazed figured tiles, now covered with turf, probably the floor of the lady's or some other chapel at the east end of the church.'
