Description
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a new barn at South Field Down. The groundworks themselves consisted of the construction of a cut-and-fill platform 15m by 25m which formed the base for the construction of the barn. This was started by excavating a trench down the required depth around the east, south and west sides of the area to define its limits. Then topsoil was stripped from the rest of the area.
No archaeological features were identified after topsoil stripping, nor were there any finds observed.
