Description

Observations and recording by Dorset County Council Archaeological Service during the renewal of a water main by Wessex Water. This involved tunnel-boring beneath the back gardens of houses at Duntish Oaks, and the laying of pipe near to the east edge of a field to the south. At the time of the visit, the topsoil had been roughly removed over a 2m width in the north of the field, and the pipe trench had just begun to be dug. There was no clear surface of subsoil to inspect and no features or finds were seen.
