Description

Terrain Archaeology undertook archaeological observations and recording during the topsoil stripping for Phase 1 quarrying operations and the creation of a new haul road. Five stone-filled field drains were exposed. No significant archaeology was discovered. Spoil arising from the strip was visually scanned for artefacts and the stripped surface was systematically walked to recover artefacts. A small quantity of finds were recovered, mainly the result of nineteenth century manuring.
