Description

Thirteen trenches (six 30m long, seven 15m long; all 1.9m wide) were excavated by machine under archaeological supervision. Any archaeological deposits encountered were cleaned and investigated by hand. This revealed prehistoric, possibly Romano-British, occupation in the form of pits and ditches, the fillings of which contained pottery of Neolithic/Bronze Age date and worked and burnt flints of probable Bronze Age date. This activity was concentrated in the eastern part of the development and corresponded with the findings of an earlier evaluation undertaken by AC archaeology in 2012.
