Description

Observation of the clearance of a previously unknown 17th-century cellar revealed historic timbers, which appeared to have come from elsewhere in the building and have been used to fill the cellar during earlier works, probably in the early 20th century. Work was constrained by the presence of asbestos, but the timbers were recorded. The timbers were beams, some with carpenters' marks.
