Description

Six trenches excavated to investigate geophysical anomalies and interpreted as probable formal garden features of 19th and 20th-century date. The formal garden features proved to consist of gravel and clinker paths, a soakaway, a drainage gully and two planting beds. Evidence for a formal pond known to have been in the garden was not found, though a layer of redeposited natural may have been backfilling of this feature.
