Description

Observations and recording during excavation of footings trenches for a house. No features or deposits of archaeological interest were encountered. Pottery of probable 12th-century date was found in the topsoil, confirming the results of a watching brief on the adjacent site of 10A Sweet Hill Road which suggested that the area was used for rubbish disposal in the medieval period and was on the edge of an area of occupation probably located on higher ground to the north.
