Description

Excavation of three trenches, each measuring approximately 30m by 1.5m, targeted on the proposed housing development and green spaces using information from a previous geophysical survey. At the same time the digging of five geological test pits was observed; no positive archaeological evidence was seen. A number of linear features and Romano-British deposits were recorded towards the southern end of Trench 3 in the south-eastern corner of the site, in the area of a geophysical anomaly indicative of an enclosure.
