Digging of a water percolation test pit and new service trench was observed on 3 July, and the rest of the works on 8 August. A machine was used to strip topsoil from the area of the new house and access road (around 655 m2 in total) to the top of the underlying natural weathered clay. No archaeological features or deposits were observed.
