Description

The assessment was commissioned by Low Carbon Solar prior to development of a solar farm on the site. The assessment considered a study area of 500m radius around the approximate centre of the site. A site visit was undertaken. There were no statutory or non-statutory designated assets within the proposed development site. The scheduled monument of Iwerne Villa was the only designated asset within the study area, an Iron Age and Roman period settlement site 300m from the development site. The site had been an agricultural field since the late 18th century and had not previously been part of any settlements. The conclusion was that the development would not adversely affect the significances of any known heritage asset and that there were no constraints pertaining to heritage assets that would preclude development.
