Description

Geophysical survey by Headland Archaeology revealed a number of anomalies, most interpreted as being indicative of post-medieval agricultural and modern activity, with some natural variation due to the localised presence of alluvial deposits. One area of clear archaeological potential was identified in the south-west part of the site, where linear anomalies appeared to indicate two enclosures and other ditches. A curvilinear anomaly was identified as the probable continuation of a medieval deer park pale.
