Description

Archaeological evaluation of a site proposed for a new primary school. The evaluation comprised the machine excavation of six trenches, three 50m by 1.8m in the central part of the site, two 25m by 1.8m in a paddock at the northern end of the site, and an additional trench 25m long in the central area to clarify the nature of features found there. The shallow remains of five ditches, truncated by ploughing, were recorded; their fillings were sands slightly darker than the surrounding natural sand.
