Description

Detailed gradiometer survey commissioned in support of a planning application for a new junction and link road from the A338 to Wessex Fields Business Park and the Royal Bournemouth Hospital via Deansleigh Road, covering an area of 14.2ha. Anomalies were identified but none could be identified with confidence as archaeological in origin. A possible medieval field system and areas of pitting were recorded, and evidence of more recent agricultural activity. Other anomalies were identified as natural or modern in origin.
