Description
An archaeological evaluation in connection with the proposed construction of a solar farm, comprising the machine excavation of fifteen trenches located to investigate previously-recorded archaeological features, and anomalies from geophysical survey. The trenches were 25m by 2m and were dug to the top of archaeological features or the natural substrate. One linear ditch-like feature was recorded in Trenches 1, 4, 5, 8 and 11.This feature had poorly-defined edges with shallow, sloped sides and an irregular flat base. No finds were recovered.
