Description

Excavations by General Pitt-Rivers in 1893 revealed an encircling ditch and at the centre of the mound a cremation in a circular pit. Two secondary cremations with collared urns were found. A crouched inhumation with a bronze awl placed against the top of its skull was also found, and assumed to be a scondary burial.
