Description

A watching brief was maintained during groundworks following the collapse of part of the churchyard wall. Two test pits were dug by the groundworks contractor against the south wall of the church to establish the depth of natural deposits, and observed by archaeologists. Digging of a new pipe trench was also observed. Both revealed topsoil over a redeposited brown clay.
