Description

An archaeological evaluation in the form of test pitting in a relatively low-lying field on the west side of the village. The field rises to the north and west. Six test pits were dug. The evaluation validated the results of an earlier geophysical survey which suggested low archaeological potential with no definite evidence of occupation or significant activity. A small assemblage of waste flint flakes and possible medieval pottery may relate to evidence in the wider area, possibly having washed in due to the nature of the landscape. Most finds were of the 18-19th or 20th centuries.
