Description

Excavation following an evaluation by Wessex Archaeology. Excavations confirmed the presence of a wide range of archaeological features of predominantly prehistoric date. Features excavated included cremation burials, hearth, pits and boundaries. Two lines of large pits could not be dated but contained larged quantities of burnt limestone in charcoal-rich fillings and appear to have had an industrial function.
